Entrust Broadband - Third Party Network Prerequisites
To whom it may concern,
Please find below the technical details required to configure your customer’s network so that it will continue to function with the new Entrust Broadband. You should prepare the network before migration as all green services below exist on both PSN and Entrust Broadband. If you have any questions regarding this document, please log a call with our Service Desk on 0300 111 8030 or via LT@entrust-ed.co.uk
Wherever possible services have been recreated on the new broadband so that the minimum reconfiguration of equipment is required. DNS Continue to use 10.255.12.9 as the primary DNS forwarder. 10.127.1.11 and 10.127.1.12 can still be used for the time being as long as they are not set to be the primary forwarder. 62.171.220.216 and 194.238.48.3 will no longer be available.
NTP Continue to use ntp.sln3.net for devices that can use an FQDN or 10.255.12.9 for those that can’t. ntp.staffs.ifl.net will no longer be available.
Proxy Continue to use proxy.sln3.net port 8080 for devices that are able to use a proxy. Transparent Filtering is now enabled for all schools connected to the Entrust Broadband and therefore devices which cannot be set to use a proxy will still have filtered access to the Internet. Primary schools should no longer be using the ServerPilot as a proxy (usually 10.x.y.50) as these are SCC owned and will be removed. proxy.staffs.ifl.net (8080) will also no longer be available.
SSL Decryption To enable the filtering to perform SSL decryption the NetSweeper Trusted Root Certificate needs to be deployed via a GPO. The certificate is available for download from http://ssl-filtering.updata.net.
SMTP Mail Server (MX Server) Any devices set to use our MX server (such as photocopiers) can continue to use mx.sln3.net for those that can use a FQDN or 10.255.12.10 for those that can’t. mx.staffs.ifl.net will no longer be available.
Firewall Changes
Firewall changes can still be requested by providing the full technical details for assessment and
